Photographs of San Diego
There are two lighthouses at Point Loma because the first one (now a museum) was built 400 feet up the mountain side which placed it too high as the light would shine above the fog and could not warn ships of the dangerous rock and cliffs One such view is the rocks sticking high up out of the water and another is the view from atop the precipice and from the same cliff the view of the top of the original lighthouse with its fresnel lens some 400 plus feet above sea level. The sunset photographs belie the dangerous shoreline. Enjoy these images of the area near San Diego, California.
